Mono Tape Club

Mono Tape Club is a listening room heavily inspired by the brilliant jazz kissas of Japan - bars and cafes where appreciating music is always at the center. Knowing how special these places and owners are, and in the Japanese tradition of 'Mono No Aware,' we humbly offer a space to appreciate some of the impermanent things we love the most: vinyl, cassettes, vintage audio gear, drinks, and people.

We spin vinyl, cassettes, and mixtapes curated by our favorite SLC locals and sometimes the odd passer-through. We serve a rotating menu of cocktails, beer, scotch, Japanese whiskey, and coffee. Come sit, listen, and let the moment be enough.

What to expect

Mono Tape Club is a bar. You must be 21+ to enter.

We offer full coffee service from 8a-2p daily, with limited coffee options available during all other open hours.

We offer full bar service from to 10a to close every day. We would love to be your day drinking spot.

All are welcome in our space, however, we recognize the listening room environment might not be for everyone, and that's ok. In order to protect the experience for all, we might ask you to quiet down if your behavior is not in line with the current energy in the room. If that doesn't work you may be asked to leave. The vibe will be different throughout the week, we simply ask that you read the room.

We have public WiFi available for our guests and allow limited computer hours during weekdays, while the sun is up. Please be mindful of the space you occupy and remember that Mono Tape Club is not your personal office to spread out or field phone calls. As always, read the room, sip to sit, and understand that we may shut down computer hours whenever we feel it's necessary.
